Day 4 - Blue Mountains Prt 2

Second day in Blue Mountains started better. The fog was gone. Went back to the Three Sisters. Incredible. Gives you a sense of just how large Australia is. Could see for miles of just forest. I think the atmosphere was kinda ruined by me humming the Jurassic Park theme but ya know, fuck you. Took a walk onto one of the Three sisters. Experienced Climbers only. Yeah we will be fine. How naive we were. The walk down was a breeze. They set up a bridge linking the cliff to the first sister. The sun came through just at the right time and cast a circular rainbows onto the clouds bellow. I could see my shadow in the rainbow. It was like Nature was saying "Sorry about the fog yesterday. Here, Happy birthday".

Walked down further until we decided to turn back. The walk up was a bitch. I could hear my heartbeat in my ears. My legs were screaming. It was such a steep climb for so early in the morning. We survived the climb back up and drove to another part of the Blue mountains. They had a cable car and train system so that fat tourists could enjoy the mountains without getting off there fat arse. The train was weird. You sit in rows of 3 inside a caged capsule. Then you travel almost vertically down a crack in the mountain to the bottom. They had a walkway created so you can see the forest safely. They had a school trip going on. Those who know me should know there is nothing i hate more than groups of children. There was another trail that wasn't walked often and wasn't safe (we found out later). I think my inner explorer is gonna get me killed soon. We walked down this path. Climbing over fallen trees and streams. 4.5km and an hour later we realized we had gone the wrong way. By now it was midday and the sun was cooking me. Need a refund on my SPF 30+. Turned around and went back. Took a cable car back up to the car park.

Drove to the Jenolan caves. Took a tour around one of the caves. Was impressive in places. At one point the guide turned off all the lights in the cave so we could see how dark it was. He said hold you hands in front of your face and try to see it. I did and i saw it. Turned out i was hallucinating and seeing what i wanted to see. They had a huge crystal which looked like an angels wing. Aptly named Gabriel's Wing. Kinda got boring after a while. Left the cave and drove back to Sydney.

Saw my first kangaroo ever. It was dead by the side of the road...
